I said goodbye to Kora whose strength and character growth drove and dominated the story. i let go of the numerous plot threads that have been followed and neatly tied. But eventually, with a heavy but joyous heart, I left the richly layered, action-packed and exciting plot. then, because I didn’t want it to end, I slowly drip-feed the rest of the chapters as the countdown to the happily ever after grew ever sweeter and ever closer. However, I lovingly binge-listened right up until the last half hour. especially for a chapter or two in the last book. But, along the way, they have to manoeuvre through shocking twists, intrigue, tight turns, brutal villains and bitter violent hurdles where the sinister was dark. And Kora, Jace, Wolfe and Apollo’s rollercoaster beginnings of angsty friction in book 1 moves through sexual tension, desire and some very heated scenes until finally leading to a beautiful, swoony and loving ménage à quatre relationship. I’ve got a serious book hangover after back-to-back listening through the non-stop action contained in books 1-4 of this phenomenally written, unique and unpredictable story set in Sterling Falls where villains lead warring gangs and monsters hide in plain sight.
